Brand Refresh, Website Design & Scalable Visual Templates
Role: Creative Direction and Lead Designer
Team: Product & Development - Brandon Silverstein
Overview
Racquet Rewind is a data-driven passion project created by Brandon Silverstein, essentially Spotify Wrapped for tennis players. Players drop in a URL and instantly generate free, shareable images breaking down their tennis year, from matches won and win streaks to favorite doubles partners and more.
After launching with a retro video game-inspired look, Brandon wanted to explore a more modern brand direction for the next season, one that still felt energetic, fun, and deeply rooted in tennis culture.
Approach
I led the brand refresh, exploring multiple modern visual directions before proposing an unexpected but nostalgic ’80s sports-inspired system that ultimately resonated most. The direction balanced retro energy with modern clarity, using vibrant greens and yellows, bold headline typography, and a playful yet structured layout system.
I designed a flexible set of scalable visual templates optimized for Instagram feed and stories, ensuring the system could dynamically accommodate player stats while remaining visually cohesive and highly shareable. The branding was then translated into the website design, maintaining consistency between the generated images and the product experience.
Throughout the process, I collaborated closely with Brandon, who brought the product to life by building and executing the site in Webflow.
Impact
5,700+ dynamic recap images generated within 48 hours of launch
265 players across 29 states participated organically
Growth driven entirely by word-of-mouth and a few organic posts on Instagram and Reddit
Strong engagement validated the system’s scalability, shareability, and resonance with tennis players
As it turns out, tennis players really love their stats.
Reflection
This project was a reminder of how powerful design can be when brand, data, and experimentation are combined. By pairing a nostalgic visual language with a scalable system, Racquet Rewind became both expressive and functional, a brand refresh that actively fueled participation and sharing.
