El Paso County Elections – Website & App Redesign

Overview

The El Paso County Elections Department needed a modern, accessible digital presence to better inform and engage voters. The website and mobile app had to provide clear, intuitive access to voting resources, dates, and locations while meeting strict accessibility standards.

Approach

I applied inclusive design principles and WCAG accessibility best practices to ensure the experience was usable by all voters. Custom illustrated icons and simplified navigation made key resources, such as voter registration, polling locations, and election results, easy to find. Both platforms were designed responsively for consistent performance across devices.

Impact

• 80% increase in traffic and higher voter engagement

• Improved accessibility for all users, including those using assistive technologies

• Streamlined access to election resources and tools
